MERIT’S VISION

MERIT was born with the vision to create equitable educational environments for Muslim children, rooted in mutual respect, collaboration and understanding. Through a supportive network that empowers Muslim parents and educators to advocate for classrooms where every child can thrive, MERIT hopes to build a foundation for a stronger future for all.

 

THE EXECUTIVE LEADERSHIP TEAM

The MERIT Executive Leadership team consists of a group of five dedicated community members committed to advancing MERIT’s mission and vision.

MERIT President

Naureen , Bachelors in Journalism, Masters in Curriculum & Instruction, Certified Muslim Life Coach. Former Vice Principal of Middle & High School at Everest Academy and currently a Social Media Manager for a local candidate in Houston and a board member of The Coalition for Peace, Relief and Equity (CPRE).

MERIT Vice President

Nishaat, Physician Assistant with a background in Rheumatology and Medical office Management. Currently lives in Sugar Land with children in the Fort Bend School District. Recently involved with  Advocacy, Voter engagement, and New Convert Care and Integration.

MERIT Secretary

Mahvesh, Masters of Science in Health Administration. Currently an IT Director with Kelsey Seybold Clinic and part time Sunday School teacher; former school teacher; involved with Muslim student affairs at Fort Bend public schools.
